Our social workers offer trainings in the following areas:

·        Professional Ethics and Boundaries (through the Florida Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers):  This meets the Florida licensure requirements for most licensed mental health professionals in Florida and is based on the NASW Code of Ethics.

·        Adoption Education:  This training provides an overview of both domestic and international adoption.  It addresses issues of attachment, the effects institutionalization, associated medical conditions, language assimilation, and other important topics related to adoption.

·        Parenting Education:  This course focuses on core parenting skills that involve appropriate boundaries and consequences, supervision needs, childhood developmental stages, age-appropriate expectations and interventions, and building positive relationships through positive communication.  The overall goal of this course is to help parents learn to teach their children self-discipline and healthy self-esteem.  This course is offered in both a classroom setting and as an in-home service.
